Brrrr It's Cold in here

Ladies it's getting to be around that time. You know what time I'm talking about, winter time. Now I know some of your focuses may be on Thanksgiving or on the upcoming gifts, but lets take some time out for our hair. YES I SAID IT! Why take time out for our hair? Because the cold weather strips it of its moisture taking the growing journey three steps back. So what can I do about this? Protective styles, plain and simple.

Protective styles will help protect your hair from the harsh wind and cold while keeping the moisture in! Anything that works to keep moisture in is a plus! Also protective styles provide you with a set look that doesn't involve much manipulation and lets your hair grow undisturbed.

-Some examples of protective styles are Plaits, Rope Twists, Sew-In's, Micro's,Buns, Crochet Twist/Braids
My current protective style (rope twists)

Sew-In 02/11
Micro's and Sew 12/09

-A note about having plaits, twists, sew-in's is, you must provide your hair with moisture!
Some people can go without it, but to help the process, spray your hair with distilled water and an oil of your choice. If you want to get fancy you can put some leave-in, glycerin, and various oils in your spray bottle. Try and spray your hair at least twice a day.
-If you have a sew-in try and put oil in an applicator bottle to keep your scalp oiled.
